Privacy Policy
This policy explains how DAWZO LLC, doing business as Better Handled (“Better Handled,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information through SanDiegoHandled.com and related services.
1. Information we collect
Customers: email address, request description, neighborhood, cross streets, dates, excluded companies, previous request number, uploaded photos or PDFs, consent records, and correspondence. We do not ask for a name, phone number, or exact street address in the public request form.
Businesses: business and responder identity, contact information, website, scope, price or estimate, inspection terms, availability, payment and warranty terms, certifications, response PDFs, and correspondence.
Verification: license, classification, insurance, workers’ compensation, BBB, operating-address, and qualification information from businesses, public sources, authorities, or documents.
Technical: hosting, security, and form providers may receive IP address, browser and device data, referring page, timestamps, logs, and essential cookie or similar data needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
2. How we use information
- Receive, route, and manage requests and responses.
- Identify, contact, and screen potentially relevant businesses.
- Create request numbers, private links, confirmations, and response PDFs.
- Communicate about requests and provide support.
- Verify qualifications, prevent fraud, secure and improve the service, retain records, comply with law, and enforce terms.
3. How we disclose information
Potential businesses: request description, approximate location, cross streets, timing, uploaded files, exclusions, and needed job details. We do not disclose the customer’s email, identity, phone number, or exact address unless separately authorized.
Requesting customer: a responding business’s submitted response and business contact information.
Service providers: vendors that host the site, process forms and files, deliver email, generate or store PDFs, provide security, maintain records, or process a clearly disclosed submission payment, only as needed to provide those services or as permitted by law.
We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security, resolve claims, or support a proposed or completed business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or authorize businesses to use customer requests for unrelated marketing, list building, or resale.
4. Cookies and tracking
Hosting and forms may use essential cookies, logs, or similar mechanisms for security and operation. We do not currently use third-party behavioral advertising cookies. We do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no consistent standard exists; we honor legally required opt-out signals if applicable.
5. Retention
We retain request, response, consent, verification, and correspondence records only as reasonably necessary to operate, document permissions, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, meet insurance or accounting needs, and comply with law. We generally review inactive request records for deletion or deidentification after 24 months, but particular records may remain longer for legal, security, tax, insurance, or dispute purposes. Backups may persist for a limited additional period.
6. Your choices
Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing requests@sandiegohandled.com with the request number and email used. We may verify identity and retain information where permitted or required, including consent, security, fraud-prevention, transaction, and legal records.
7. California disclosures
We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing as defined by California’s “Shine the Light” law. If Better Handled becomes subject to additional California Consumer Privacy Act requirements, we will update this policy and provide required notices and rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not submit information the form does not request.
9. Children and outside links
The service is for adults and not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Third-party links are governed by those parties’ privacy practices.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy by posting a new effective date and giving additional notice when required. For privacy questions or requests, email requests@sandiegohandled.com.
